Bachelorette Party and Hen Night

Bachelorette Party and Hen Night

Last Saturday my wonderful maid of honor and several gal pals treated me to a great bachelorette party in central Virginia.

Gav and I hoped he would be here by the end of August or early September, so we planned my bachelorette party and his stag do for early August. Turns out he won’t be here for another 2-3 months due to government delays (*cough* SURPRISE!), but that just gives us an excuse to have another mini outing once he arrives 🙂

Gav sent my sister a box full of post-Jubilee goodies, and she used the Union Jack decorative items throughout the day. First up — flag bunting in the van.

We started the day with manicures or pedicures before traveling to the nearby mountains for an afternoon picnic and wine tasting.

Katie packed some fun bachelorette party items to keep our picnic interesting…and I’ll leave it at that 🙂

After Veritas we visited the nearby King Family Vineyard — where I ran into a former colleague from London who’s moved back to Virginia!

Our friendly volunteer driver then returned us to Charlottesville, where we connected with my other sister for dinner at a Thai restaurant. The last time I had eaten there was the day after Gav proposed 🙂

We ended the evening with delicious drinks and fun conversation.

Back in May, my English friends planned a surprise hen night that I learned about the week before my trip 🙂

Thanks to all of the ladies who have been involved in both parties and to Gav for sending Union Jack items to Katie and picking me up from hen night.

Lovely post babe. Glad I could help with your hen/bachelorette parties. However, I did very little in comparison to what the some of the girls did in giving you a couple of good days out.

So thanks to all who helped, special thanks to Katie for all the work and planning to give my beautiful fiancee a great day out 🙂

  2. What a fun day – any excuse for wine tasting is always a god one!
